Inside Applications: Assessment of Extracellular Acidification using a Fluorescence-Based Assay

BlueScreen HC Graph Point Time-resolved fluorescence assay to measure extracellular acidification
Point Measures the conversion of pyruvate to lactic acid
Point Convenient measure of glycolytic flux
Analysis of cellular glycolytic flux can be performed by measuring rates of extracellular acidification. A time-resolved fluorescence assay from Luxcel was utilized to measure the extracellular pH decrease. This application note shows that the FLUOstar Omega microplate reader from BMG LABTECH provides a robust assay readout, and the MARS data analysis software enables an easy signal convertion into a convenient H+ scale display.
