FAQ: What is an Optic Module?

Optic Modules incorporate an “all-in-one” design, allowing users to concentrate on running assays, not running instrumentation. Optic Modules contain all the necessary components to read any assay in one convenient package. This includes excitation and emission filters, dichroic mirrors, beam splitters and polarization filters. The components are matched and optimized by our scientists and engineers so that users never have to guess if the right part is in place, or if the reader is configured correctly. Each Optic Module is barcode labeled to eliminate the possibility of running the wrong filter set for the assay.

Optic Modules are available for the PHERAstar Plus and PHERAstar FS HTS Microplate Readers.
