Applications Thursday: Mitochondrial ToxGlo™ Assay

Mitochondrial ToxGlo™ Assay: Promega recently announced the release of their new Mitochondrial ToxGlo™ Assay for mitochondrial toxicity. Drug companies rely heavily on ADME/Tox screens to determine whether or not a compound is a good candidate to consider for a therapeutics. Promega’s new assay will make it easier than ever to monitor for toxicity. The ToxGlo assay is multiplexed, so users can measure both membrane integrity with a fluorescent marker and ATP levels with a luminescent reporter.

BMG LABTECH microplate readers automatically add reagents and measure both fluorescence and luminescence. This makes the PHERAstar and Omega Series of microplate readers an optimal choice for this assay, as satisfied customers have had excellent results running this assay on our microplate readers.
